With the advent of the Internet era and the continuous development of human society, cities will carry more and more people in the future. At present, China is in a period of accelerated urbanization, and the problem of “urban disease” in some areas is becoming more and more serious. In order to solve the problems of urban development and realize urban sustainable development, building a smart city has become an irreversible historical trend of urban development in the world. The smart city is based on the new generation of information technologies such as Internet of things, cloud computing, big data and spatial geographic information integration. Through sensing, analyzing and integrating the key information of the urban operation core system, it makes intelligent response to various needs including urban services, public safety and environmental protection, so as to realize the automation and intelligence of urban management and services.
Among them, intelligent street lamps are expected to become an important breakthrough in the construction of smart cities. In the future, in the fields of wireless WiFi, charging pile, data monitoring, environmental protection monitoring, lamp pole screen and so on, it can be realized by relying on street lamps and intelligent control platform.
Intelligent street lamp is the application of advanced, efficient and reliable power line carrier and wireless GPRS / CDMA communication technology to realize the remote centralized control and management of street lamp. The system has the functions of automatically adjusting brightness according to traffic flow, remote lighting control, wireless network coverage, active fault alarm, anti-theft of lamps and cables, remote meter reading and so on. It can greatly save power resources and improve the management level of public lighting. After adopting the urban road intelligent lighting system, the operation and maintenance cost will be reduced by 56% per year.
According to the data of the National Bureau of statistics, from 2004 to 2014, the number of urban road lighting lamps in China increased from 10.5315 million to 23.0191 million, and the urban road lighting industry maintained a trend of rapid development. In addition, in recent years, China’s lighting power consumption accounts for about 14% of the total social power consumption. Among them, the power consumption of road and landscape lighting accounts for about 38% of the lighting power consumption, becoming the lighting field with the largest power consumption. Traditional street lamps are generally dominated by sodium lamps, which have high energy consumption and large consumption. LED street lamps can reduce power consumption, and the comprehensive energy-saving rate can reach more than 50%. After intelligent transformation, the comprehensive energy-saving rate of intelligent LED street lamps is expected to reach more than 70%.
As of last year, the number of smart cities in China has reached 386, and smart cities have gradually stepped into the stage of substantive construction from concept exploration. With the acceleration of smart city construction and the wide application of new generation information technologies such as Internet of things and cloud computing, the construction of intelligent street lamps will usher in rapid development opportunities. It is estimated that by 2020, the market penetration of LED intelligent street lamps in China will increase to about 40%.
